Free Mind TV – A Vision Realized

In the year 2010, a vision was born, a vision that would transcend borders and ideologies, a vision for an independent TV Channel dedicated to championing liberal ideas. This dream, nurtured from its inception, aspired to be a beacon of hope and a voice for the voiceless, especially those persecuted minorities and free thinkers within the Middle East. As the years passed, this vision took shape. Collaborating with fellow activists, we initiated numerous Facebook groups and pages, diligently working to unite like-minded individuals willing to partake in our audacious venture. Around the dawn of 2013, a significant milestone was reached as we acquired a cache of professional equipment: cameras, VTRs, audio mixers, video mixers, microphones, and an array of TV studio essentials. The pieces were falling into place, yet the realization dawned that this mission could not be undertaken alone. In a quest to find trusty companions, conversations unfolded with friends from Egypt and Iraq who shared our passion for the project. Excitement swelled as we stood on the precipice of realizing our dream. However, we knew that launching it within the Middle East would be fraught with challenges. A collective decision was made to bide our time. During this period, we worked tirelessly, crafting ideas, scripts, and programs, diligently preparing for what lay ahead. Then, in September 2014, fate took a fortuitous turn as I relocated to the USA, providing the ideal backdrop for our dream's fruition. Unable to contain our eagerness, on October 25, 2014, we proudly unfurled Free Mind TV to the world. It was marked by the broadcast of an iconic music video featuring the resonant voice of Um Kulthum. This poignant moment served as an anthem, proclaiming our identity as Free Minded Thinkers, using the universal language of music to spread the message of peace far and wide.
